To coincide with the exhibition at Tate Modern, contemporary artists were asked to contribute work as a homage to one of the 20th Century's most influential painters, Henri Rousseau. Some artists have produced variations on the artist's most celebrated theme, the Jungle, whilst others have celebrated the spirit of the great French naif. It has proved rich ground with a variety of work produced especially for the show by Mary Fedden, Fred Yates, Frederick Gore, Robbie Bushe, Henry Fraser, Hilda Margery Clarke, Barry McGlashan, Eleanor Fein, David Schofield, William Peers, Mark Adlington, Rupert Gatfield, Francis Hamel, Charles Williams, Robert Ryan and Peter Markey.
